Volunteer Program Overview
Becoming a hospice volunteer is making a difference in someone's life. While we at Beacon pride ourselves in providing a diverse range of unique services to our patients and families, we know that we are not the only ones who can make a difference in people's lives. That's why we enlist wonderful volunteers like you to join us in bringing a smile and helping hand to those in need.

To orient new Beacon Hospice volunteers, we have created a comprehensive volunteer training to help ensure the best care for our patients. In the Beacon Hospice volunteer training you will attend a series of training sessions scheduled over the course of several weeks where hospice topics such as The History of Hospice, The Medical Aspects of Hospice, Effective Communication with Patients and Families, Grief and Bereavement and The Hospice Family are covered.
The following requirements are also asked of Beacon Hospice volunteers. As a hospice volunteer, we request a one year commitment with one to four hours of service a week, as well as a background check, physician's statement and annual TB test.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Beacon Hospice Volunteer where you can help make a difference in the lives of hospice patients and their families.
