Tuesday, October 02, 2007 (EST) - Volunteer Training

Hospice Volunteer Comprehensive Training Class begins September 25th, 2007.

Volunteers needed for Rockland, Whitman, Norwell and surrounding areas. Your gift is your presence. Beacon Hospice is offering a comprehensive training class to help prepare individuals to become Hospice volunteers. The Beacon Hospice approach to care creates a patient and family environment of hope, comfort, and dignity. Volunteers are key team members and supported by a coordinator. Throughout the training volunteers will be introduced to the team members: Social Worker, Chaplain, Bereavement Coordinator and nursing staff who will all contribute to the understanding of hospice and its approach to healthcare. Join now and make a profound difference in someone’s life as well as your own. Visit with a patient, write letters, play music or hold a hand-the possibilities are endless. Upon completion, participants will receive Hospice Training Certificate, ID badge and jacket, and most importantly, an opportunity to serve others.

Our Volunteer training class meets weekly and starts Tuesday, September 25th at 6PM to 8:30PM. and ends on November 13.

Location: Rockland High School.

Please see www.rockland.mec.edu for registration and course information.

'... there is no one definition of a good death; quality end-of-life care is a dynamic process that is negotiated among patients, families, and healthcare professionals; a process moderated by individual values, knowledge, and preferences for care.'
