Friday, February 15, 2008 (EST) - Volunteer Training

Beacon Hospice is always looking for dedicated, passionate volunteers to provide care and comfort to our patients. Volunteers enhance the quality of life of our patients and families and help provide the extraordinary care we give to our patients and families.



There will be a free volunteer training at Auburn Hall, Court St., Auburn, Maine on Thursday afternoons from 2/28/08 through 4/10/08. The 7 three hour sessions will run from 1-4pm and will be conducted by various members of our dedicated interdisciplinary team including case manager, chaplain, social worker, bereavement field coordinator and of course volunteers!

If your new year’s resolution list includes service to others, this training will prepare you to serve your neighbors in very meaningful ways as they face end of life issues. To allow time for interviews and criminal background checks, pre-registration is required by February 15th.   • CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
    A Caregiver Support Group for anyone who is caring for a loved one will meet on six consecutive Mondays (beginning Nov. 10, 2008) from 1:30-3:00PM at the Plymouth Council on Aging. For more information, please call Scott A. Ciosek at 508-747-7222.

  • HEART FOR THE HOLIDAYS/Daytime and Evening Groups
    An eight week bereavement support group for those grieving a loss
    through death at this special time of year.


  • Adult Holiday Grief and Loss Group
    Starting Tuesdays, Oct. 28th , 10a.m.-noon there will be a 3 week grief support group for adults who are struggling with the holiday season and grief. There is no cost for this group. Please contact Heather Thompson at 207-772-0929 for more information and to register.

    This position is accountable for general office clerical duties.

  • External Educator
    Responsible for providing ongoing end-of-life educational opportunities within the community.

  • Admissions/Intake Coordinator LPN
    Responsible for processing patient referrals to Beacon Hospice.
