Tuesday, August 25, 2009 (EST) - Your gift is your presence.

Become a Hospice Volunteer in the Merrimack Valley! Training scheduled to begin August 25.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. A hospice volunteer offers companionship, support, a helping hand. No matter who you are, you have something to offer hospice patients. You can make a profound difference in a person’s life whether it is a 15 minute visit, writing letters, playing music, or just sitting quietly, holding a patient’s hand. Beacon Hospice’s team approach to care focuses on comfort, dignity and peace for the patient and their family. Volunteers must complete a comprehensive training program and receive on-going support from the volunteer coordinator and other members of the team.

The next training series will take place Tuesday evenings from 6-9:00 on August 25, September. 1, 8, 22, 29 and October 6 and 13.

Clerical help in the Haverhill office is also welcomed. Training dates are added regularly. Another training series will start in October.

For more information about this rewarding and life affirming experience please contact Julie Herget at 1-800-981-4805 or jherget@beaconhospice.com.
