Thank you for your interest in Beacon Hospice and volunteering. Our monthly orientation covers the history and philosophy of Beacon Hospice, information about our award winning program for end-stage dementia, and what makes us unique in the Hospice community. Orientation is required by all volunteers, and once completed, those who want to help with indirect patient care may begin.
Those who are interested in direct patient care will continue with a 17 hour training. It is provided by the Beacon Hospice staff and covers such topics as medical aspects, hospice family and communication, spiritual aspects, death, dying, and bereavement, and the responsibilities and rewards of being a volunteer. The orientation and training will be offered in our Concord office, but the area we serve is within a 60 mile radius of Concord (Merrimack and Belknap counties).
Our location is: 70 Commercial Street, 4th floor Concord, NH 03301
Please contact Marcia Sprague, Volunteer Coordinator, at 603-224-2230 for more information or to sign up for the next orientation.
