- Beacon Hospice Volunteer Training
A Volunteer Training Program will begin July 2, 2009 from 6-9pm. To register or for more information, please contact Aimee Peden, Vol. Coordinator, at (617) 242-8370 or email apeden@beaconhospice.com.

A free comprehensive training course that will prepare the volunteer to offer vital support to our patients. The training covers such topics as the history of hospice, medical aspects of hospice, the hospice family and communication, spiritual aspects of care, grief and loss, and the responsibilities and rewards of being a volunteer. All classes will be held in Quincy for 5 consecutive Thursdays. Specifically, volunteers are needed in the following areas: Brighton, Brookline, Burlington, Chelsea, Dorchester, East Boston, Everett, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Malden, Medford, Milton, Quincy, Roxbury, South Boston, West Roxbury, and Winthrop.

The RN Case Manager provides nursing care and hospice case management to hospice patients and families. Implements nursing interventions and coordinates the Patient/Family Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
