Tuesday, January 09, 2007 (EST) - Volunteer Training 1/9-2/6

Volunteer training will begin on Tuesday January 9th from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. We will meet every Tuesday for 5 weeks. It will take place at Beacon Hospice, 529 Main Street, Suite 101, Charlestown, MA. If interested, please contact Kelley Padgett at (617) 242-8370 Ext. 22 or kpadgett@beaconhospice.com.



Beacon Hospice staff will provide this training covering such topics as the history and philosophy of hospice; death, dying and bereavement; the medical aspects of hospice; the hospice family and communication; spiritual aspects of hospice work; and the responsibilities and rewards of being a hospice volunteer.

  • CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
    A Caregiver Support Group for anyone who is caring for a loved one will meet on six consecutive Mondays (beginning Nov. 10, 2008) from 1:30-3:00PM at the Plymouth Council on Aging. For more information, please call Scott A. Ciosek at 508-747-7222.

  • HEART FOR THE HOLIDAYS/Daytime and Evening Groups
    An eight week bereavement support group for those grieving a loss
    through death at this special time of year.


  • Adult Holiday Grief and Loss Group
    Starting Tuesdays, Oct. 28th , 10a.m.-noon there will be a 3 week grief support group for adults who are struggling with the holiday season and grief. There is no cost for this group. Please contact Heather Thompson at 207-772-0929 for more information and to register.

    This position is accountable for general office clerical duties.

    Responsible for providing ongoing end-of-life educational opportunities within the community.

  • Admissions/Intake Coordinator LPN
    Responsible for processing patient referrals to Beacon Hospice.
