Benefits Overview

Beacon Hospice recognizes that our employees are the organization’s greatest assets in providing quality hospice care to the patients, families, and the community.  Offering a comprehensive benefits program is an important part of taking care of our employees.

INSURANCE PLANS
All Beacon Hospice insurance benefits are effective the first of the month after completing 30 days of service.

  • Health and Presciption Drug Plan
    All full-time employees (32-40 hours/week) are eligible for the HMO Blue Value Plus or Enhanced Value New England health and prescription drug plan.   
  • Dental Plan
    All full-time employees (32-40 hours/week) are eligible for the Guardian Dental PPO Plan. 
  • Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
    All Full-time employees receive $25,000 of life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance through MetLife.  All full-time employees can purchase additional life/accidental death and dismemberment insurance through U. S. Life.
  • Short and Long Term Disability
    All full-time employees are eligible to purchase from Medical Life Insurance Co. short term disability and long term disability insurance that provides income replacement in the event of a disability. 

TIME OFF

  • Holidays
    Beacon Hospice observes six (6) national holidays per year and four (4) floating holidays available to use one (1) per quarter for eligible full-time and part-time employees.
  • Paid Days Off (PDO)
    A combination of vacation and sick time is accrued at an established rate per pay period. 
    Year one - the accrual rate is 2.4 hours per pay period or a total of 124.8 hours (15.6 days) per year for a full-time employee.  Year five - PDO accrual increases to a maximum of 4.0 hours per pay period or a total of 208.0 hours (26 days) per year for a full-time employee. 


OTHER BENEFITS

  • 401(K) Plan
    All employees over 21 years of age are eligible to participate in the 401(K) plan managed by MetLife, after 1 year of service.
  • Employee Assistance Plan
    EAP program provides our the employees and their families with a direct link to trained professional counselors who can help with a verity of confidential benefits such as Legal assistance, help with family issues, stress and anxiety and career advancement.
  • Mileage Reimbursement
    Employees who use their personal automobile for business are reimbursed at the current Federal IRS Guideline.
  • Pagers
    Clinical staff are issued pagers for ease in contacts between the hospice staff and members of the clinical team.
  • Cellular Phone Charges
    Members of clinical staff, management, and marketing staff may submit bills for reimbursement for business related cellular phone charges not to exceed company limit per month.
  • Direct Deposit
    Pay can be automatically deposited to checking and/or savings accounts.

  • Coping With Loss
    A six week Wednesday evening support group for those who are grieving the recent death of a loved one.

    Starting: Wednesday, August 20th, 2008, 6 p.m. till 8 p.m.


  • Healing Workshop for Widow and Widowers, 8/26/08.
    Are you a widow or widower interested in meeting other widow or widowers in your age group? Are you interested in self-care or receiving support? If so YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

  • A Healing Workshop for Caregivers, 8/20/08, 6-8 pm
    Are you caring for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer's or a related dementia in your home or at a local nursing home facility? If so, you are invited to attend A Healing Workshop for Caregivers.

    Current Opportunities:

  • Receptionist
    This position is accountable for general office clerical duties.

  • External Educator
    Responsible for providing ongoing end-of-life educational opportunities within the community.

  • Central Intake Coordinator LPN
    Responsible for processing patient referrals to Beacon Hospice.
