Monday, December 17, 2007 (EST) - Holiday Support Group

A weekly group to provide support, hope and help during the holiday season. The group is open to all who have experienced a loss. Registration is required, contact Deb Kozisek at (860) 536-5601 ext.24.



The death of a loved family member naturally brings grief and pain.  The family and social gatherings, memories, chores and expectations of the holiday season may impact effect your sense of grief, loss or loneliness.  This group will offer a safe and supportive place for people to acknowledge their thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential environment, offer support, encouragement and company to others who have experienced loss, and provide helpful tips to manage and cope with the holiday season. 

Date and Time:  Thursday Evenings, 6:00 - 7:30pm November 1st through January 3rd.

Place:  Avalon Health Care Center at Stoneridge

          186 Jerry Browne Road

          Mystic, CT 06355

  • CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP
    A Caregiver Support Group for anyone who is caring for a loved one will meet on six consecutive Mondays (beginning Nov. 10, 2008) from 1:30-3:00PM at the Plymouth Council on Aging. For more information, please call Scott A. Ciosek at 508-747-7222.

  • HEART FOR THE HOLIDAYS/Daytime and Evening Groups
    An eight week bereavement support group for those grieving a loss
    through death at this special time of year.


  • Adult Holiday Grief and Loss Group
    Starting Tuesdays, Oct. 28th , 10a.m.-noon there will be a 3 week grief support group for adults who are struggling with the holiday season and grief. There is no cost for this group. Please contact Heather Thompson at 207-772-0929 for more information and to register.

  • Receptionist
    This position is accountable for general office clerical duties.

  • External Educator
    Responsible for providing ongoing end-of-life educational opportunities within the community.

  • Admissions/Intake Coordinator LPN
    Responsible for processing patient referrals to Beacon Hospice.
